Aonang

Aonang is a seemingly random town on the hidden coasts of Krabi. When Nushaw, Amber and I first landed in Thailand, we took a ferry from Phuket to the Krabi Coast. The ferry took us to smaller and smaller boats until we got to our little hideaway camp in Tonsai. When we left Tonsai beach, we had to take a long boat around the corner of the peninsula to Aonang. From Aonang we were able to get a bus to take us to Surat Thani to get us to Koh Samui and the islands on the other side of the country.

Hiring the long boat out of Tonsai involved a bit of planning. It cost 400 bhat to take us around the corner to Aonang. The more people we could organize to come along, the cheaper it was for us. We just had a friend leave the day before and had found no one to go with her and she had to foot the bill herself.

We spent the night at a nice hotel and took full advantage of the rooftop infinity pool and sunset happy hour.
